Christian Women In Action

The Christian Women in Action have been in existence for 8 ½ years, and meet weekly on Wednesday mornings for devotionals and prayer. Our mission is based on Scripture from James 2:14-17 "Growing our faith in Christ through fellowship, prayer and service to others." Some things we have done to raise funds for our local missions are having fashion shows, our annual Fall Frenzy, That's My Pan sales, bake sales, and participating in community activities. The monies we've raised from these endeavors go toward purchasing school supplies for our elementary, middle and high schools, Christmas gifts for children in need and hospice patients, scholarships to Camp ASCCA and SIFAT, food ministry for the sick and shut-ins, assisting the Older Adult Ministry with a Queenagers luncheon, helping with the community-wide Easter outreach, providing funds to the elementary school for clothing for children in need, helping with Vacation Bible School, providing support to the Girls Ranch, and several times assisted church members who have had difficulties. We are always ready to help the Trustees with church and parsonage projects too. We've painted the community room and restrooms, and made curtains for the community room, and when we've had church members making their confirmation, we've made their shawls. In addition to all of this, CWIA provides fellowship and support for one another, and sometimes that's done with a fun outing.
