Weekly Bible study on Wednesday at 9 am in the Church Parlor. A new series will begin October 2nd with LaNell Black leading the six-week study "Context - Putting Scripture in Its Place" by Josh Scott. This study will delve into well-known scriptures, exploring their true meanings in context and revealing fresh and enlightening interpretations that are often missed. Books are $15.
Each month on the first Wednesday, we gather to share a meal and fellowship. Our next supper is November 6th at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. This will be a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, dressing, vegetables, cranberry sauce, rolls, etc. Call the office to make your reservations or sign-up Sunday at church.
While CWIA and CWIA Too's annual Fall Market has passed, there are still some items available for purchase. We still have pear preserves, fig preserves, and muscadine jelly. Pints are $9 and half pints are $6. Call the office if you are interested in purchasing any of these items. Proceeds go to local missions.
Each football season we show our support to the Dadeville High School football team by joining with 2 other area churches to provide breakfast on game day. All high school students are invited to join us on October 31st at 6:45 am as DFUMC hosts breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. If you want to help, arrive by 6:00 am to prepare or 6:45 am to serve and clean-up.
Christian Women in Action Too (CWIA Too) is our night time women's group that meets once a month for devotion, fun, and fellowship. Most meetings are at the church but they often meet out in the community for dinner.
While Halloween is not a Christian celebration, we know our children like to dress up and go Trick or Treating, so we offer a safer alternative with Trunk or Treat. Bring the kiddos to the church parking lot and we will have treats to give out between 5:30 and 7 pm or at least as long as the treats last. This is in conjunction with other area churches, the hospital, etc. If you would like to participate with your "trunk" or donate treats, call the office to let us know.
All Saints Day is an opportunity to give thanks for those who have gone before us in the faith. We would like to remember our church family and their immediate family members who have passed since October 29, 2023. If you have a loved one you would like for us to remember, please call the church office to give us their name.
Loaves and Fishes Charity Gala is set for November 21st from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at New Water Farms, 460 Camp Civitan Rad in Dadeville. There will be a silent auction, steak dinner by Scott Blake, and a live band. Tickets are available for $75 per ticket or through table sponsorships. This is a fundraiser for Loaves & Fishes.
It will soon be time to "Deck the Hall" of the church and decorate for the Advent season. We will meet immediately after church or soon thereafter if you want to eat lunch first. With all hands on deck, it usually only takes a couple of hours. Join us if you are able! We'd love to have your help!
